When to Use Promo Code

Hello Good People! Hope you all are doing well. I need help about promo code activation. I received a promo code before buying a skitto sim. The SMS containing the promo code says, it will expire in a month. Now that I already have the sim, is it okay to activate the code just before the expiry date?
